On a gorgeous fall day in September 2023, Arielle and Jason shared their love and devotion for one another with their closest family and friends at the hidden gem of 550 Trackside in Atlanta, Georgia. From the very moment I met both Arielle and Jason, it was apparent of their love for one another. Not only were they giddy and sweet on each another, but before answering a single question about their wedding, they would always look at the other making sure both were on board with what was being shared. It was clear as day that this couple had a love that was deeply rooted. I greatly admired this passion they had for one another and the desire to build into their wedding day the minute details that brought their relationship to life.
As their Month-Of Coordinator, I was able to help provide experienced guidance and tie up any loose ends regarding final details. However, Arielle and Jason surprised me on the day of with a couple personal touches that brought a huge smile to my face! Both of them have a love for shoes and brought that into their wedding day. Along with a guestbook, they asked guests to also sign one or both pairs of soft lavender (one of their wedding colors!) sneakers...of which would be proudly worn by the couple following their wedding day! Guests seemed to flock to the sneakers, signing any spot available. Sure, it's not a normal wedding day detail, but it was one that I loved as it brought the couples relationship to life - it was just one of many details that made their wedding day unique to them, which I am all for!

Moving forward, when it comes to a wedding reception, most people are well aware of all the first dances...however, how many money dances have you seen at a wedding? I've heard about them, but most couples tend to shy away for many reasons - not Arielle and Jason! Adding a money dance to their reception was a special cultural decision that brought all guests together, most in laughter, but everyone was up from their tables participating in this memorable moment.
I couldn't tell you how many safety pins I gave away to guests in order for them to pin whatever cash they had on them directly on to the bride and groom. The newly weds went from dancing during this money dance to being forced to stand still due to the sheer number of guests pinning cash on their attire. It was a phenomenal sight to see and it was a true joy to watch. Sure, it might feel more uncomfortable in our American culture to do this money dance, but it was something I will never forget...and I'm sure every single guest at Arielle and Jason's wedding would say the very same.

A wedding day is one of the very few moments in life that takes months to plan yet passes by with the blink of an eye. I encourage you to not just check the boxes of what our American culture says your wedding day needs to be, but bring this special day of commitment and love to life. Make it personal, add what is important to you and your fiancé and allow space within your wedding day to simply gaze around the room and admire the present moment you are in. Take in how loved you are and how fleeting time is...don't let one of the most anticipated days of your life pass you by, but soak it in and make it your very own. If you and your fiancé love hot dogs, have a hot dog cart. If you and your fiancé love rock-climbing, bring in a rock wall for guests to enjoy (along with an expert of course!).
Don't miss the personalization of your wedding day - it's YOUR wedding day, so make it special to you. Allow guests to see the true connection and depth of your relationship by incorporating the very things that brought the two of you together in the first place!
